The Multinational CIMIC Group at the 2nd orientation course for Security Force Assistance
As part of the second orientation course for the Security Force Assistance (SFA), a team of specialists of the Multinational CIMIC Group, intervened as Subject Matter Experts and speakers for the issue related to the gender perspective.
The course, carried out by the SFA Center of Excellence located at the Infantry School in Cesano, lasted 5 days. It was aimed to give the knowledge and basic skills to conduct all those activities that have as goals the training, the development and updating for Armed Forces of other countries.
During his lecture, the Multinational CIMIC Group Officer explained the students the contents of UN Security Council Resolution 1325, and other resolutions related to the Women Peace and Security (WPS) agenda.
Moreover it was expounded the normative benchmark regarding the actions of United Nations bodies and Member States on the impact of wars on women and the contribution women can and must give to the conflict resolution and lasting peace.
Particular importance was given, in the context of the implementation of the WPS agenda, to the experience gained by the Atlantic Alliance Units employed in NATO operations in the process of gender mainstreaming.
In addition to the soldiers from different departments of the Armed Forces, there were also several students coming from the University of Turin and the Free International University of Social Studies "Guido Carli".
