Motta di Livenza, October 04, 2020.
From 19 September to 04 October 2020, the exhibition on the Great War entitled "The ties between civilians and military during the First World War" was held in the exhibition building of the former Motta di Livenza prisons. The exhibition, organized by the Multinational CIMIC Group (MNCG) in collaboration with the municipal administration of Motta di Livenza, the 3 rd Engineer regiment of Udine and the Infantry Association (Treviso Section), was aimed at highlighting and making known more deeply a historical period that marked the foundations of modern society.
The Great War was, in fact, an exceptional and all-encompassing event. An exhibition, therefore, that was dedicated to young and old, which has rediscovered the exploits of those men and women who participated in the First World War through an exhibition space that retraced those terrible years, retracing the social changes of the time: from the role of women in society to industrial transformation, from cinema and musics to children's toys.
"Don't lose the memory of the past is one of the best ways to build a better future. Those who have given their lives to make our beloved homeland better are the example that must urge us, daily, to do our duty", with these words Colonel Luca Vitali, Multinational CIMIC Group Commander, opened the exhibition on 19 September, on the occasion of the inauguration.
Among the different memorabilia, vintage photos and historical uniforms, visitors also had the opportunity to visit a section of trench, recreated for the occasion by the soldiers of the MNCG to relive the experiences of the soldiers at the front.
