From 30th November to 11th December 2020, an asset of the Multinational CIMIC Group (MNCG) conducted phase 3 of the Steadfast Jupiter Jackal 20 (STJUJA20) exercise at the Joint Force Command in Naples.
The epidemiological emergency did not stop an important exercise of the Atlantic Alliance which was nevertheless carried out in compliance with the provisions for the containment of the contagion from Covid-19 and partially reduced in order to optimize the didactic-training objectives.
The final phase of the EXE STJUJA20, initially planned to be carried out at the Joint Warfare Center in Stavanger (Norway), has undergone a functional remodeling to the pandemic evolution, turning into a battle staff exercise in which the MNCG staff is been engaged, as Exercise Control (EXCON) and Response Cell.
The CIMIC Task Force exercised on a current scenario, in line with the training objectives aimed at preparing the package of forces for the NRF 21 (NATO Response Force) requirement. The NRF package made available to NATO by the Multinational CIMIC Group, is a set of CIMIC operators that can be readily deployed to meet the operational needs of the Atlantic Alliance. The task organization is a CIMIC Group Minus, the notice to move is 30 days and it will be certified as "ready for use" on next December.
During the exercise, the Commander of the MNCG, Colonel Mattia Zuzzi, visited the personnel in business by going personally with the Command Senior Enlisted Leader, CWO Fabio Peroni, complimenting the commitment shown in all phases of the exercise and to offer suggestions thanks to its experience in the CIMIC operational function.
