COORDINATION IS ESSENTIAL
MNCG specialists coordinated local authorities and associations in order to support kosovar population
Kosovo,2021.
In recent weeks, the operators of the Multinational CIMIC Group have concluded the delivery of about 19 tons of food and basic necessities to the most needy families living in the western area of Kosovo. The finalization of the initiative, financed by the Italian Ministry of Defense, required an in-depth assessment of the needs of the Kosovar communities and an accurate analysis to identify the families to whom to donate the materials. The contribution of the local Red Cross volunteers who, coordinated by the CIMIC operators, identified the communities most in need followed by an accurate distribution plan, always managed by the MNCG operators, within the fifteen municipalities that insist in the area, under the responsibility of KFOR Regional Command West. The NATO KFOR mission, commanded by Major General Franco Federici, is entrusted with the tasks provided for by the UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 which consist in guaranteeing a safe environment in which to advance the dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade, in ensuring freedom of movement for the local population and promoting interethnic coexistence.
