ADMIRAL AGOSTINI PAID A VISIT TO MNCG
Very important visit to the Mario Fiore Barracks in Motta di Livenza, civil-military cooperation specialists’ headquarters

On February 17, 2022, Rear Admiral Fabio Agostini, DCOS Plans end Exercises in the Italian Joint Operational Headquarters, visited the Mario Fiore Barracks in Motta di Livenza, Multinational CIMIC Group (MCNG) headquarters, in order to deepen the knowledge of the unit, globally recognized within NATO as a center of expertise for civil-military cooperation.
After the welcome greetings, MNCG Commander, Colonel Mattia Zuzzi, accompanied the Admiral to the meeting room where, in the presence of the staff, he presented a briefing about the various activities of the unit in NATO and in international missions.
At the end of the briefing, Admiral Agostini was able to visit the infrastructure and meet the personnel specialized in civil-military cooperation.
“In modern scenarios the CIMIC operational function covers a role ever deeper and more significant for understanding and knowing the social dynamics of the area of responsibility in which we are called upon to intervene. The joint peculiarity confers an additional capacity to be able to intervene in coordination with the other military assets and in compliance with the intent of the Commander" said the Admiral at the end of the presentation.
The Multinational CIMIC Group counts in its staff, personnel from all the Armed Forces belonging to the 6 Participating Nations, who, during their assignment at Motta di Livenza, specialize in civil-military cooperation becoming "CIMIC operators", qualification recognized internationally, and participating in operations under the aegis of the UN, NATO and EU.
At the end of the day, after the ritual signing of the honor roll, Admiral Agostini congratulated and thanked the men and women of the Multinational CIMIC Group, for their continuous effort, carried out not only in national but also international environment.
