NEW TRAINING OFFER FOR MNCG IN 2022
The first CIMIC Orientation Course in line with NATO Standard at Motta di Livenza
Motta di Livenza, February, 17th, 2022.
The first "CIMIC Orientation Course" took place from 14th to 17th February 2022 at the "M.Fiore" barracks in Motta di Livenza. The course is part of a revised CIMIC training offer, requested by the Commander of the unit, Colonel Mattia Zuzzi, in accordance with the training objectives and standards of the Atlantic Alliance. Multinational CIMIC Group (MNCG) specialists have therefore tailored the revised educational offer to the requirements of current operational scenarios as well as to the training objectives set by NATO.
The course was delivered including distributed e-learning and residential sessions. The aim of the course is to provide students with basic knowledge on principles, tasks and organization of the CIMIC function in support of a military operation. During the course, several guest speakers representing different International and Non-Governmental Organizations were invited to take part. It is worth mentioning Ms Nogarotto from “Medicine Sans Frontiere”, Ms Susan Hodgson from “Save the Children”, Ms Zein Tayyeb from the “United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs” and Mr. Xavier Godefroid of the “International Committee of Red Cross”. Amongst the instructors also the MNCG Commander who delivered a lecture about the CIMIC Center sharing his field experiences too.
Panel discussions, role-playing and syndicates activities enabled the students to consolidate the theoretical concepts learned in the classroom with the support of the MNCG tutors, coming from the 6 Participating Nations, namely Greece, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia and Hungary.
Within the Atlantic Alliance the Multinational CIMIC Group is recognized as both an operational unit and a CIMIC training institution.
