MNCG WELCOMES NEW COMMANDER

Colonel Ugo Proietto (ITA Army) assumed command of Multinational CIMIC Group in a
ceremony at “Mario Fiore” barracks in Motta di Livenza, Italy on July 22, 2022.
Colonel Proietto succeeds Colonel Mattia Zuzzi, who had been in post since 2020.


Motta di Livenza, Italy - On July 22nd at the Multinational CIMIC Group Headquarters (HQ MNCG), Colonel Mattia Zuzzi handed command of the headquarters to his successor, Colonel Ugo Proietto. Tactical Intelligence Brigade Commander, Brigade General Maurizio Fronda, presided over the outdoor ceremony with VIPs and guests in attendance. 
Tactical Intelligence Brigade Commander commended Colonel Zuzzi for “his
exceptionally selfless service and commitment to NATO and Italian Army”, including
his work maintaining operational effectiveness through the COVID-19 Pandemic,
leading MNCG operators in NATO Operation “Allied Solace” and confirming MNCG's
participation in NATO exercises and training. He welcomed Colonel Proietto asking
him to reach and achieve effective and in-depth integration of the CIMIC function into
the Multi-Domain and Information Environment. "I know you will continue to serve
NATO and Italian Army with the same leadership and dedication you have always
shown."
Colonel Ugo Proietto is a Cavalry Senior Officer that in his 30-year military career has
spanned the globe, from Kosovo to Iraq, Lybia, Lebanon and The Nederlands where
he served at the NATO Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS). He is the thirteen
Commander to take the leadership reins of the Multinational CIMIC Group.
