Kosovo Delegation Visits the Multinational CIMIC Group

Motta di Livenza, 17 july 2023

From July 10th for a week, the Multinational CIMIC Group (MNCG) received a delegation from the Kosovo Security Forces (KSF), in accordance with the bilateral agreement on security cooperation signed in 2018 between Italy and Kosovo. The visit aimed to strengthen cooperation between the two parties and familiarize the Kosovar delegation with the specificities of the Multinational CIMIC Group (MNCG).

After a welcoming address by the Commander of the Multinational CIMIC Group, Colonel Ugo PROIETTO, a group of MNCG instructors provided a presentation to the 3 representatives of the KSF, detailing the numerous activities of the unit at the international level. The focus was on the structure of the Regiment, presenting the operational, training, and educational capabilities of the MNCG.

Subsequently, other MNCG personnel shared their experiences gained in operational theaters where the unit provides resources for civil-military cooperation. Finally, the delegation had the opportunity to visit the facilities.

The Multinational CIMIC Group has been operating in various international scenarios for years, participating in NATO-led missions under the auspices of the United Nations and the European Union. MNCG operators have been present in Kosovo for over a decade as part of the Kosovo Force (KFOR), an operation led by the Atlantic Alliance that acts as a "Third Responder".
Following the civil-military cooperation activities carried out in recent years in Kosovo, the MNCG has established a strong bond with local institutions and security forces, actively contributing to the country's development. The visit concluded by providing the counterparts the opportunity to renew the ongoing collaboration, further solidifying the relationship between the two nations.
