MNCG: Contaminated Survival 2018
La Comina (PN), 06 November 2018. Within the activities aimed at the preparation of the assets specialists of the Multinational CIMIC Group, has been concluded at the training area of the Command Department and Tactical supports of the Ariete Brigade, the exercise called "Contaminated Survival 2018".
The complex training activity, carried out - for two weeks - in a scenario of absolute adherence to reality that CIMIC operators are facing during the employment in crisis areas, has engaged, in addition to the military personnel of the CIMIC Battalion, also representatives of the Italian Red Cross and Student Officers of the Modena Military Academy in training.
The exercise, by simulating a contaminated scenario, assessed the operational capabilities of the department in the use of specialized structures in the sensitive sector CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear) not neglecting the role play of "engagement" with village and leaders local population in a semi-permissive environment.
The training of the CIMIC operator is in fact conducted necessarily at 360 degrees and in such a way to ensure the fulfillment of heterogeneous tasks: oriented to operate through the use of the so-called "all-encompassing" approach and without neglecting basic training of the soldier who is a common patrimony to all the soldiers.
The Multinational CIMIC Group, which includes, among the contributing nations, beyond Italy, Greece, the Portugal, Romania, Slovenia and Hungary, today represents a real pole of excellence for the training of operators working in the delicate sector of civil-military cooperation. To date, more than 1600 visitors, civilians and military, both Italian and foreign, have attended the courses of training at the "Mario Fiore" barracks, reflecting a level, responsive teaching offer to the needs of those facing the changing challenges of today's operational scenarios.
The CIMIC operators of the Multinational CIMIC Group are currently employed in both operations international organizations in Kosovo, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Somalia, Djibouti and the Mediterranean (Operation Sophia), which in national operations to protect the territory (Operation Strade Sicure).
