7th CIMIC Regiment / Multinational CIMIC Group change of command ceremony. Col. Ugo Proietto hands over the leadership to Col. Piero Furlan.

It was held today at the Mario Fiore Barracks the ceremony of the change of command of the 7th Regiment CIMIC/Multinational CIMIC Group, between Colonel Ugo Proietto, handing over, and Colonel Piero Furlan, taking over. The ceremony was attended by Brigadier General Carmine Vizzuso, the commander of the Tactical Information Brigade, on which the unit depends.
Colonel Proietto wanted to underline that the Multinational CIMIC Group has confirmed to be a center of excellence for the training of operators working in the sensitive area of civil-military cooperation, an aspect also demonstrated by the great success of the 17th CIMIC Unit Commanders' Conference which involved 120 military and civilian personnel gathered in Treviso coming from more than 20 NATO members countries.
The confirmation of the fellowship that binds the Italian Army unit to the territory was shown also from the numerous local authorities who attended the event. At the ceremony there were also the widow of the Second Lieutenant Pezzulo, godmother of the regiment's War Flag, numerous veterans’ and Armed Forces Associations with their banners, and representatives of the nations constituting the Multinational CIMIC Group: Greece, Hungary, Italy, Portugal, Romania and Slovenia.
The Multinational CIMIC Group is a fundamental element of the Tactical Information Brigade of the Italian Army. It is a multinational inter-force department, led by the Italian-lead, that operates in the sensitive area of civil-military cooperation. It has 3 main tasks: civil-military liaison, force support and support to non-military actors and the civilian environment.
