Mission to Lebanon: Blue Helmets at the Children Festival 2018
As part of the mission in Lebanon, Peacekeepers from Sector West of UNIFIL spend a day full of games and entertainment along with 2,500 Lebanese children
The Italian blue helmets of Leonte XXIV deployed in the western sector as part of the UNIFIL Mission in Lebanon took part in the 2018 Children's Festival organized in the city of Tibnin in favor of about 2,500 children between 3 and 14 years of age, from association "ALPHA".
The availability of the Sector West Commander on the basis of the Alpina Brigade Julia - Multinational Land Force, Brigade General Paolo Fabbri , has been translated with the presence of infopromotional stands, UNIFIL gazebos with gadgets that have been donated to the children.
Italy has deployed its specialized set-ups: the specialized operators of the Multinational CIMIC Group of Motta di Livenza (TV), an Army unit specialized in civil-military cooperation; the personnel of the Military Community Outreach Unit in coordination with the two tactical teams operating in communications of the Sector West of UNIFIL , units powered by highly specialized Army soldiers belonging to the 28th Pavia Regiment stationed in Pesaro.
The Italian military operates in the south of Lebanon, in full respect of Resolution n. 1701 of the United Nations Security Council, they conduct operational activities aimed at increasing the knowledge and consent of the inhabitants of the place towards the Mission interacting daily with the population and local authorities.
